LEGEND® Self-Leveling Hydrophobic Surface is designed to maintain a long-lasting shine. Minor scratches and abrasions caused by normal wear and tear, such as car washes, are easily removed over time. The low surface energy of the topcoat prevents surface darkening that can be caused by waterborne contaminants. A car surface coated with LEGEND® Prime Matte Paint Protection maintains an attractive satin-matte appearance for years to come, without maintenance.
LEGEND® Prime Matte’s resistance to yellowing, stains, and chemicals is ensured by an improved polymer matrix structure, which prevents staining, yellowing, and surface darkening caused by dirty water, oils, fuel, transmission fluids, radiator fluids, and windshield washer fluids. Furthermore, LEGEND® Prime protective film is highly resistant to solvents, acids, insect splashes, and bird droppings.
Prime Matte film’s durability and weather resistance in the harshest conditions are the result of a collaboration between scientists and engineers from around the world, resulting in components that maintain their visual properties and performance characteristics for years to come. LEGEND® products are designed to meet the most stringent exterior specifications for automotive, aerospace, transportation, and heavy equipment. LEGEND® protective film has passed QUV and Xenon weather testing, as well as high temperature and humidity testing.
LEGEND®’s chemical resistance is thoroughly tested with a variety of chemicals, including aggressive solvents such as toluene, 2-butanone, n-butyl acetate, isopropyl alcohol, and aqueous solutions of hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and sodium hydroxide.
The durability of LEGEND® Prime Matte is verified by tensile testing and a gravolometer test, designed to evaluate the vehicle’s surface coating’s resistance to chipping caused by gravel and other projectile impacts, in accordance with SAE and ASTM standards.
